Overview

WristRecall is a flashcard app for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by Objective Pixel. It is built to respect your privacy: your decks and study progress stay on your device and in your own iCloud account. We do not run servers that collect your personal data, we do not use third‑party analytics or advertising, and we do not sell data.

This policy explains what data WristRecall handles and how. It covers the WristRecall app and the WristRecall website (wristrecall.app).

Data We Collect

The app. WristRecall has no sign‑up and no account. We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number, and we do not collect personal information on our own servers — we do not operate any. The content you create or import — flashcard decks, topics, study history, statistics, streaks, and settings — is stored on your device.

iCloud sync. If you are signed in to iCloud, your decks and progress sync across your devices through Apple's CloudKit, in your private iCloud database. That data is stored under your Apple Account. Objective Pixel cannot read it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Imported decks. When you import a .wristdeck file — for example via AirDrop or the Files app — its contents are processed on your device.

The website. The WristRecall website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy‑first analytics tool. It measures aggregate traffic — such as page views, referrers, approximate country, and performance — without cookies and without tracking individual visitors across sites. Visitor data is not collected for visitors in the UK and the EU.

How We Use Data

App data is used only to provide the app's features: showing your decks, running study sessions, tracking your progress, and syncing across your devices. Website analytics are used only to understand aggregate traffic so we can improve the site. We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or tracking.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. App data stays on your device and in your private iCloud — we do not transmit it to ourselves or to any third party.

Third‑Party Services

The WristRecall app does not include any third‑party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash‑reporting services.

Data Retention

App data stays on your device until you delete it — by removing decks within the app, or by deleting the app. iCloud data remains in your iCloud account until you delete it; note that deleting the app does not automatically remove data already stored in iCloud, which you can manage in iOS Settings. Because we do not keep copies of your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side.

Security

Connections between the app and iCloud, and connections to our website, use HTTPS/TLS encryption. iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Because your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud, its security is anchored to your device passcode and your Apple Account protections.

Your Choices & Rights

You stay in control of your data. You can delete decks within the app, or delete the app to remove on‑device data. You can manage or delete iCloud data, and turn iCloud sync for WristRecall on or off, in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA in California — you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not collect or hold your personal data on our own servers, there is little for us to act on, but you are welcome to contact us with any request or question.

Children's Privacy

WristRecall is a general‑audience educational app. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children — the app collects no personal information from anyone.

International Transfers

We do not collect personal data on our own servers, so we do not transfer your personal data internationally. iCloud data is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies. Website analytics are processed by Cloudflare.

Tracking

WristRecall does not track you, as Apple defines "tracking." It does not link data about you with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising or measurement, and it does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Push Notifications

WristRecall uses Apple's push service only to support background iCloud (CloudKit) sync. The app does not send marketing or promotional push notifications.
